A rider dies while another was seriously hurt in an accident involving two motorcycles in Batangas province

LUCENA CITY — A 38-year-old male teacher died after the motorcycle he was driving accidentally bumped into a parked truck in Lian town in Batangas province on Friday, March 22, police said Saturday, March 23.

Cyrus John Carl Caisip was negotiating the national highway when his vehicle crashed into the rear section of an unattended ten-wheeler truck parked in Barangay (village) Balibago around 4 a.m., a report from Batangas police said.

The rider, though wearing a crash helmet, sustained serious injuries and died while being taken to Apacible Memorial District Hospital in neighboring Nasugbu town.

The report did not identify the driver and owner of the parked truck. It also did not specify if the truck had an early warning device to alarm approaching vehicles.
