LUCENA CITY – A 20-year-old motorcycle rider died after his vehicle collided with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Alitagtag town in Batangas on Saturday night, March 9.

The Batangas police reported Sunday (March 10) that Rence Mac Kliene Agno was driving his motorcycle when he crashed into a Ford Everest driven by John Leymar Magalang in a section of the national road in Barangay (village) Sta. Cruz around 10:30 p.m.

Agno sustained grave injuries and died while being taken to Taal Polymedic Hospital in neighboring Taal town.

The report did not state whether or not the victim was wearing a crash helmet.

The police said the motorcycle “suddenly occupied the opposite lane” and consequently hit the oncoming vehicle.

The police also mentioned that the family of the victim and the SUV driver were open to an amicable settlement.
