LUCENA CITY — A motorcycle rider died Wednesday after his vehicle bumped into a parked dump truck in Batangas City, police said.
Rodolfo Bacay, 42, was traversing the national highway in Barangay Dalig around 9:15 p.m. when he bumped into the rear section of the parked dump truck on the roadside, the Batangas police reported on Thursday, March 21.
The rider died while being taken to the Batangas Medical Center due to serious injuries.

Investigators said the parked truck driven by Ronnel Abrencillo had two flat tires.
The report did not specify if the parked truck had an early warning device to alarm approaching vehicles.
The truck driver was placed under police custody while the investigation continues.
