3 alleged gun runners busted in Calamba City

Police authorities have arrested one of Laguna's most wanted persons in the province following a manhunt operation over the weekend

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested three suspected gun runners early Tuesday, March 19, in a buy-bust operation in Calamba City, Laguna.

The Region 4A police said law enforcers arrested “Joel,” “Jerwin,” and “Romeo” around 1:30 a.m. after they sold a caliber .45 pistol loaded with three bullets and two magazines to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Parian.

The report did not provide further details about the suspects.

Authorities also found the suspects in possession of one Glock 17 9mm pistol, a magazine, and 15 bullets.

Police said the firearms lack government-issued documents or corresponding licenses and permits for the holder.

The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their gun-running trade.

The suspects were detained and will face a formal complaint for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
