MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair weather will prevail in most parts of the country on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

However, some parts of the country were forecast to see rains brought by the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan.

Based on Pagasa’s morning bulletin, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to amihan.

No significant impact is expected in areas affected by amihan.

As for Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the state weather bureau noted that slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced despite the expected fair weather conditions.

This is due to the effects of easterlies, or the convergence of cool and warm winds, and localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa warned against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

“Wala pa rin tayong binabantayang low pressure area o sama ng panahon sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility,” said Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil.

(We still do not have any low pressure areas or bad weather in and out of our Philippine area of responsibility.)

There is also no gale warning alert raised in any part of the archipelago’s seaboards, he added.
