MANILA, Philippines — Former first lady Imelda Marcos has been discharged from the hospital after being confined due to pneumonia, her daughter Senator Imee Marcos told reporters on Thursday.
“She’s already out,” said Imee in a text message in Filipino, adding that her mother was actually discharged on Wednesday.
“Some oral medications na lang [and] rest at home,” she added.
The 94-year-old Marcos matriarch was earlier reported to have acquired mild pneumonia, but both her children — Imee and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said she’s already “in good spirits” and “fever-free.”
The chief executive said his mother was already complaining about the food.
“She wants to go to different places. She wants to do many things,” the president said.
“You know my mother. The most difficult thing for her is to do nothing.”
