MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte denounced on Thursday the “black propaganda” campaigns which she said are being used against her.
According to Duterte, black propaganda is a dirty part of politics, and that it was used as a weapon against her by people who wanted to see the efforts to improve the country fail.
“Mga kababayan, ang black propaganda ay maruming bahagi ng politika at gagamitin itong sandata laban sa akin ng mga taong nangangarap na makita tayong bigo sa pagtupad ng ating sinumpaang tungkulin sa bayan,” Duterte said in a video posted on her official Facebook page.
(Countrymen, black propaganda is a dirty part of politics and it was used as a weapon against me by people who wished to see us fail in delivering on our sworn duty to the country.)
Some of the black propaganda which Duterte mentioned were the attacks against the confidential funds; the claims that she was allegedly connected with the Davao Death Squad; and a video which made the rounds in social media alleging that she supposedly ordered the stopping of traffic flow in Commonwealth Avenue, among others.
(We can see this in the attacks against confidential funds; the spreading of the video in Commonwealth traffic; the fabrication of issues in strengthening the security for the Office of the Vice President; the witnesses who claimed that I was allegedly part of the Davao Death Squad, the malicious reports about my firearms, and the disrespect on my relationship with my husband.
Duterte noted the persons who are against her do not want her to succeed against corruption, criminality, illegal drugs and terrorism.
(They do not want us to succeed for the education of Filipino children and for their future that is in danger from the hands of corruption, criminality, illegal drugs and terrorism.)
The Vice President thanked the people for their support and said the allegations against her were fueled by personal and political interests.
(Thank you for your continued support of my mandate to raise the standard of education of our children. Thank you for your prayers.)
(Let us remember that these black propaganda are borne out of personal and political interests. These are neither your interests nor the nation’s interest. This is not in the interest of the Philippines.)
