Car colliding with tricycle in Quezon kills 91-year-old female passenger

LUCENA CITY – A 91-year-old female passenger of a tricycle died on Thursday, March 7, after their vehicle was hit by a car along the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan, Quezon.

Quezon police, in a spot report, said a tricycle driven by Fernando Reyes, 63, was making a U-turn when the sidecar of his vehicle was bumped by an oncoming car.

The car was driven by one “Stephen,” 42, in a section of the highway in Barangay (village) Angeles around 8:32 a.m.

Due to the strong impact, the lone tricycle passenger “Filomena” was thrown off the tricycle, landed on the pavement and died of severe injuries.

The car driver was placed under police custody while the investigation continues.
