Metro Manila temperature may reach 34°C on Thursday — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines —Metro Manila’s air temperature may reach up to 34 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja, in a public forecast, said this is due to the continued effect of the easterlies or the warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean.
“In terms of our temperature ay magiging mainit pa rin po. Kagaya dito sa Metro Manila — hanggang 34 degrees celsius po pagsapit ng tanghali. Ibang lugar kagaya ng Tuguegarao hanggang 33 degrees, habang sa Legazpi hanggang 32 degrees celsius,” Estareja explained.
(In terms of our temperature, it will still be hot. Here in Metro Manila, it’s up to 34 degrees Celsius by noon. Other places like Tuguegarao have up to 33 degrees, while in Legazpi, it’s up to 32 degrees Celsius.)
“But please take note: ‘Yung ating heat index na tinatawag o ‘yung posibleng maramdaman ng ating katawan ay mas higit pa by two to four degrees celsius,” he added.
(But please note: Our heat index, which pertains to the heat that our bodies perceive, may be higher by two to four degrees Celsius.)
Estareja said the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” is blowing cold winds, but it only reaches extreme northern Luzon for now.
For the rest of Luzon, Estareja said hot and humid weather will still prevail.
“Most of the day, it will be sunny, especially in the western and southern portions of Luzon, and at the same time, there will be light rains only in the Cordillera Valley and Cagayan Region. It is not expected to rain heavily in the rest of Luzon,” he said in a mix of English and Filipino.
According to Estareja, the weather will be no different in Visayas and Mindanao, where chances of rain are low and warm weather will continue.

- Metro Manila – 24°C to 34°C
- Baguio – 16°C to 26°C
- Tagaytay – 21°C to 30°C
- Laoag – 22°C to 31°C
- Tuguegarao – 23°C to 33°C
- Legazpi – 25°C to 32°C
- Puerto Princesa – 24°C to 33°C
- Iloilo – 25°C to 32°C
- Cebu – 26°C to 32°C
- Tacloban – 25°C to 32°C
- Cagayan de Oro – 24°C to 31°C
- Davao – 25°C to 33°C
- Zamboanga – 24°C to 34°C
