MANILA, Philippines — Reacting to reports of thousands of capsules filled with powdered human flesh recently seized by the South Korean government, a lawmaker on Thursday urged the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation to confiscate Chinese products for fear that some of the illegal pills may have reached the country.

Eastern Samar Representative Ben Evardone called on the authorities to launch a crackdown on Chinese products being peddled as sex enhancers, energy boosters, slimming and skin whitening supplements following the BBC report on the seized 17,500 capsules containing human flesh smuggled from China.
