Tuli services for Lahug

The Perpetual Succour Hospital’s Social Service department and Family Medicine department once again conducted a free circumcision in sitio Upper Laguerta, barangay Lahug, Cebu City last April 25 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The activity, spearheaded by PSH’s clinical social workers Venches Queque and Juliet Sanchez, benefited at least 40 patients composed mostly of children.

The PSH team was composed of Family Medicine residents, Doctors Francisco Estanislao, Marilou Caburatan, Duane Aguilar, Lotis Galorport, Floreto Marollano and Jose Roy Catis; post graduate interns Doctors Jorge Oñate Jr., Katrina Longos, Elbe Salas, and Joan Cuello; Dr. Brian Vilbar, chief resident of Surgery Department; Dr. Lorelie Dy, pedia resident; and Dr. Nestor Ceniza, general surgeon consultant.

Emergency Room nurses Aizza Mendez and Katrina Dionaldo and infection control nurse Melibeth Serrano assisted the doctors in the surgical procedures.

FEATURED STORIES

Barangay health workers Gina Baguio, Rose Verano, Emperatriz Capili and Amelita Bernardo helped in the physical set-up and in leading the patients.

Company representatives Danilo Eata Jr. and Aileen Gimena of Prosel Pharmaceuticals and Jolly Vic de Castro of Best Buy also shared their time during the activity.

After the circumcision, the patients were given free medicines by the hospital, as well as antibiotics and pain relievers from Prosel and amoxicillin and paracetamol from Best Buy.

The Social Service Department of PSH, which organized the event, does not only focus on charity works but also on bringing the residents to the basic ecclesial community.
