VEHICULAR ACCIDENT
A man was in critical condition while his wife was killed when they were run over by a ten-wheeler truck in barangay Linao, Talisay City, south Cebu, yesterday afternoon.
Enerlito Lauronal was rushed to a hospital for minor injuries but his wife Thelma died on the spot.
Police said the couple from San Fernando town were on their way home on board their motorcycle when a 10-wheeler truck driven by Danilo Villacensio accidentally sideswiped them.
The motorcycle then hit a multicab on their right and bounced back to the truck falling underneath it.
Enerlito rolled away from the wheels of the truck but Thelma was unable to do the same. She died instantly from head injuries.

A 36-year-old security guard was allegedly stabbed dead by his brother-in-law yesterday in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.
A knife was used to stab Erwin Archival in the chest, neck and back.
Initial police investigation revealed that Archival and his sister Christina Bangkale, 34, were arguing at Bangkale’s house when she refused to help him borrow money from a certain “Alona.”
Police said Bangkale’s 47-year-old husband Eddie who was just listening to them fight suddenly attacked the victim with a knife, hitting his back.
The victim ran away but the trisikad driver stabbed him again. The victim them slumped at the ground but the suspect stabbed him again twice in the chest.
The suspect fled with the murder weapon.

STOLEN APPLIANCES
At least P50,000 worth of appliances believed to be stolen were recovered by police in barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, yesterday.
Insp. Ramil Morpos of the Mandaue City Police Office said an anonymous caller tipped them off on stolen goods sold in Talisay City last May 6.
Police recovered three portable pianos, one CPU, one 21-inch television, a component set and a DVD player.
Morpos said residents, who already suspected that the appliances sold to them at P2,000 to P3,500 were stolen, turned over the appliances to police.
Buyers told police that Michael Quilora of Tanjay, Negros Oriental, sold them the loot.
Police are calling on the owners of the items to claim them at the Mandaue City Police Office./Fe Marie D. Dumaboc
