MANILA, Philippines — Over P1.2 billion in cash and rice assistance were extended to around 150,000 beneficiaries in the province of Sultan Kudarat through the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF), several lawmakers said on Monday.
Deputy Speaker and Quezon Rep. David Suarez, Isabela Rep. Inno Dy, Taguig Rep. Amparo Maria Zamora, and Rizal Rep. Fidel Nograles tagged the event a success.
“Well for me it only shows that … when the Executive and the Legislative work together, hand in hand, mas marami talagang Pilipino ang natutulungan and nakita natin ‘yan kahapon sa BPSF sa Sultan Kudarat (more Filipinos are truly being helped, and we saw that yesterday at the BPSF in Sultan Kudarat),” said Zamora in a statement.
“It’s really amazing how 150,000 Mindanaoans were catered to Sunday and mas marami pa po ang matutulungan (more people will be helped) in the following weeks to come,” she added.
Meanwhile, Suarez said almost every family in Sultan Kudarat benefitted from the BPSF, where over half a million kilos of rice were distributed.
“Para sa akin po no, malinaw at klaro kung ano po ang mensahe nitong BPSF dahil kung makikita nyo po iikutin, ang plano po ng administration na ikutin ang bawat lalawigan ng bawat probinsya upang dalhin ang tulong ng ating national government,” said Suarez.
(For me, it’s clear what the message of this BPSF is, because if you observe closely, the administration’s plan is to visit every province and extend assistance from the national government.)
Dy said BPSF proves that under the current administration “no one gets left behind in reaping the fruits of a developing nation.”
Nograles echoed the sentiments of Dy, and praised how the government brought social services to the people.
