All set for Run UP High

THE SECOND edition of the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu High School Alumni Association’s Run UP High is expected to draw more participants this June 10 at the UP campus.

Since the Cebu City government now regulates running events in the city, organizers are confident that their race will not be held simultaneously with another event. This means the running community won’t be divided during that Sunday morning.

The race aims to raise funds to support the group’s 26 scholars and deserving faculty members.

Meanwhile, the running event  will once again feature the 3-kilometer barkada category, wherein competitors will be composed of a four-man team running  together to the finish line. This year, organizers will require each team to wear costumes.

The race will also have 6k and 12k categories.

The running event was officially launched yesterday at the City Sports Club-Cebu.

Registration fee is pegged at P300 for the 3k category, P350 for the 6k and P450 for the 12k category.

Registration started yesterday at the RUNNR Ayala Center Cebu and at the UP High School department at the Lahug campus.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
