4.5 magnitude earthquake hits Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-4.5 earthquake hit the waters off Jose Abad Santos municipality in Davao Occidental on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor occurred at 8:51 a.m. east of Jose Abad Santos municipality.

The state seismologist said that it had a depth of focus of 51 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

There is no expected damage to infrastructure or aftershocks expected based on Phivolcs’ information bulletin.
