MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday said that he wants the amendments to the 1987 Constitution done without any fuss, saying he was alright with the current process for getting it done now. The Senate and the House of Representatives have been clashing over how Charter change will be carried out.
“Sinasabi ng kailangan ko pumasok, matagal na ako nakikipag-usap sa magkabila but you know, what for me is more important than these proclamations and pronouncements is to get it done. We do it quietly. We do it, you know, without any fuss,” Marcos said in an ambush interview.

Marcos said he has been speaking to the Senate and House of Representatives for months regarding economic revisions to the Constitution.
Asked what method for Charter change he prefers, Marcos said he wanted the process as is.
“What’s happening now. What’s happening now. I always said the Senate will take the lead. The Senate is taking the lead and between the two houses, they will come to an agreement and that will be the way we will do it,” said Marcos.
“We just want to get those amendments incorporated in the Constitution to improve the chances of investment and upskilling of the people,” he added.
