ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – Police arrested two drug suspects and seized an estimated P34 million worth of shabu following a buy-bust operation Monday night in Barangay Mercedes here.

The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) under the supervision of Police Lt. Colonel Elmer Solon, identified the two drug suspects as Waham Akibul Ganih, 59, and Almujir Amil Jumah, 37, of Southcom Village in Barangay Calarian.

Based on reports from RDEU, Ganih and Jumah sold some 5 kilograms of suspected meth, with an estimated street value of P34 million.

Solon said the illegal substance were contained in three heat-sealed transparent plastic packs hidden in eco bags and small candy boxes.

“The big-time accomplishment is a manifestation of the relentless effort of our law enforcement agencies in the Zamboanga Peninsula in eradicating the illegal drug problem in our locality,” said Police Brigadier General Bowenn Joeu Masauding, regional director of Police Regional Office 9.
