MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. is hoping that Ash Wednesday would allow Filipinos to renew their faith.
Marcos posted a photo of him receiving an ash imposed on his forehead.
“In observing Ash Wednesday, let us all reflect and renew our faith,” said Marcos in a Facebook post.

Ash Wednesday is the celebration of the first day of the Lenten Season, which is the season of penance before Easter.
The solemn commemoration fell on the same day as Valentine’s Day. Marcos earlier posted a photo of him and First Lady Liza Marcos to mark the Day of Hearts.
