Agnes: Re-election bid up to Bakud Party
The Durano-led Bakud party is expected to announce major decisions this week with the arrival of its leader Danao Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III from the United States.
“Nito was updated with developments there in the States,” said Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.
“He told me the political scene is getting to be interesting.”
The vice governor said she didn’t want to bother him with the twists and turns, but that Durano kept posted by followings Cebu news online.
Bakud’s alliance is being courted by both the Garcia-led One Cebu party and the Liberal Party who want Magpale to run as their vice governor candidate in 2013.
Magpale said the final choice would be a party decision announced by her cousin, and party leader, Ramonito who is arriving this week.
Article continues after this advertisement“Naa ra man na namo (Bakud Party). Mahimo ra man gani ug dili ko molansar. Honest pa. That’s why wala koy pressure. It’s all up to us (Bakud Party). It’s even possible that I will no longer run for any position. Honestly, that’s why I don’t feel any pressure about it,” she told reporters.
Article continues after this advertisementTo show she wasn’t bothered about being made to choose, she showed three paper lotus flowers with inspirational messages written on them.
“Contentment and bliss go hand in hand,” read the first lotus. “When there is love in my heart, there is light,” read the second lotus. “When I try my best and this is not enough, leave it to the hands of God,” read the third one.
She called these her “messages of support.”
She said she has not been giving updates to her cousin because she wanted him to rest while he was on vacation in the US.
“Wala nako siya ingni ug unsay mga problema dinhi, total makahuwat man (I haven’t told him of the problems here, anyway, they could wait),” Magpale added.
