Irked Japanese retiree pokes gun at karaoke singers

A 70-YEAR-OLD Japanese retiree  who was annoyed by   the noise of   resort guests singing  karaoke  past 2 a.m. barged into their  room and pointed a  gun at  them in Oslob town, south Cebu, on Monday.

Masahiro Hisano did not resist when police came to arrest him later. He  surrendered his unlicensed .45 caliber pistol and is  detained at the Oslob police station  for illegal possession of firearm.

A group of friends were singing with the karaoke at the Jisworld Beach resort when an angry  Hisano entered and pointed a gun at Celestina Rodriguez of barangay Tisa, Cebu City,  and her friends.  The guests  reported the incident to police.

Hisano’s house is beside  the resort.

“He was irritated by the noise and scolded them,” said PO2 Albert Almario.

Hisano was formerly married to a Filipina and has lived in Cebu for about eight years.
