Muntinlupa gives free maintenance meds for seniors
MANILA, Philippines — Muntinlupa City announced on Sunday that it would provide free health maintenance medicines for senior citizens, as part of its efforts to improve the health care system and the quality of life of its elderly residents.
“Seniors in the City of Muntinlupa now have another reason to rejoice, as the City Government is now offering health maintenance medicines for free,” city hall said in a statement.
Seniors in Muntinlupa can receive up to a month’s supply of medicine, such as losartan, amlodipine, and metformin, which are commonly used to treat hypertension, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
The local government also revealed that the city has achieved a record-high revenue collection for 2023, reaching P6.4 billion or a collection efficiency of 100.98 percent. An increase from the P6.2 billion collection in 2022.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon said higher local income means a bigger budget to support more projects and programs for Muntinlupa residents.
