LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Philippines — Police arrested on Thursday four suspected big-time drug traffickers and seized P2.8 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and marijuana in Dasmariñas City, Cavite province.

In a report on Friday, the Calabarzon Police Regional Police (PRO-4A which covers Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) said anti-narcotics operatives nabbed suspects identified only as Alberto, Mariede, and Calix in a buy-bust operation around 2:30 p.m. at the parking lot of a fast food chain in Barangay Paliparan 3.

The suspects, who were tagged in the report as high-value targets in the government’s drug war, yielded two knot-tied plastic bags containing 200 grams of meth worth P1,360,000 and a digital weighing scale.

Also found in the suspects’ possession were seven bricks of marijuana weighing 7,000 grams worth P840,000.

Authorities also seized a mobile phone, which will be examined for records of drug transactions, and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

The law enforcers also arrested a certain Bryan in another sting operation around 8 pm. in Barangay Zone 4.

Police recovered 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 from the suspect, also classified as a high-value individual in the local drug trade.

Police were tracking the source of shabu and illegal hemp being peddled by the suspects.

The suspects were detained at the local police jail and will face a complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
