2 cops hurt after drug suspect’s car hit them in Batangas

LUCENA CITY – Two policemen aboard a mobile patrol were injured on Wednesday, Feb. 7, after their vehicle was hit by car-riding drug suspects in Mabini town in Batangas province.

Batangas police reported Thursday that anti-illegal drug operatives were about to arrest the three suspects, “Vane,” “Lander” and “Fred” after a buy-bust operation at 7:42 p.m. when the trio escaped aboard their car in Barangay Pulong Niogan.

A police mobile patrol car with Corporals Salavaria and Pesigan on board established a roadblock, but the suspect’s vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, tried to evade the blockade and crashed into the patrol car. The first names of the cops were not stated in the report.

The two cops suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The pursuing policemen arrested the suspects and seized 10.60 grams of shabu worth P72,080.

The suspects will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
