MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) debunked on Wednesday a Facebook post that alleged to give immediate assistance.
According to the DSWD, it has no program that gives immediate financial assistance to people.

Rather, people may avail its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program for assistance related to medical, burial, transportation, educational assistance, among other kinds.
“Walang anumang programa ang DSWD na nagbibigay ng agarang halaga sa mga tao. Maaari kayong tulungan ng DSWD na mag-avail ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation na nagbibigay tulong sa anyo ng medical, burial, transportation, educational assistance, at iba pang tulong pinansyal,” it said.
(The DSWD has no program that gives immediate monetary assistance to people. You may be assisted by the DSWD to avail the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, which gives aid for medical, burial, transportation, educational assistance, and other financial aid.)
The post also used a logo of the agency, which the DSWD said was used without permission.

“Huwag magtiwala at huwag magpaloko sa mga posts na katulad nito upang maiwasang maging biktima ng scam,” it added.
