14-year old boy shot dead in Zamboanga del Sur town

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — The body of a 14-year old boy was found dead Tuesday by residents of Purok 6 in Legarda Uno village in Dinas town, Zamboanga del Sur.

Baby James Canillo, a resident of Upper Dimaya village of Dinas, had six gunshot wounds in different parts of his body resulting in his immediate death, according to the Dinas local government’s information team member Igmat Dinas, who initially reported the incident.

Residents said they heard a series of gunfire around 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, but they restrained themselves from going out of their houses to check what happened, especially as the area was dark.

Authorities were still still investigating the incident.
