MANILA, Philippines — The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) will do electrical maintenance work at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) starting on Tuesday, Feb. 6, up to March 7.
The work will affect Naia Terminals 1 and 2, the International Cargo Terminal, the MIAA Administration Building, and the airfield.
The activities are part of the ongoing upgrades in Naia’s electrical systems.

“Minimal disruptions will occur in some areas but Management assures the riding public that critical systems used for passenger processing will remain operational,” MIAA said in a statement.
“The MIAA sees no significant impact of the scheduled works to flight operations,” it added.
The activities come after four power outages at the airport.
In one of the incidents, on Jan. 1, 2023, a power failure disrupted the country’s air navigation system and left thousands of travelers stranded in many airports.
