Makati City to earmark P9.1 billion for health, education, social welfare
MANILA, Philippines — Makati City Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay on Wednesday said that the local government will allocate P9.1 billion for social development programs.
“Despite a reduction of P700 million in the National Tax Allotment due to the transfer of the 10 barangays to Taguig, I want to assure Makatizens that our commitment to social services remains unwavering,” Binay said in a statement.
The city government allocated P4.136 billion for health, P3.253 for education, and P1.810 billion for social welfare programs.
Anti-shingles vaccine, which cost from P8,000 to P10,000, will also be made available for free to Yellow Card holders.
Binay added that the local government is planning a scholarship program and a search for the ten outstanding students of Makati.
