MANILA, Philippines — The Senate on Tuesday elected four new members of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA).
Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva made the motion to elect new CA members during a plenary session.
He said this is pursuant to Section 18 Article 6 of the 1987 Constitution.
The newly-elected members of CA are Senators Raffy Tulfo, Joel Villanueva, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and Bong Revilla
No member of the chamber objected when Villanueva made the motion, prompting Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri to approve the call.
The CA has the power to approve or disapprove appointments made by the President as vested by the 1987 Constitution.
