Mandaue, Borbon seal partnership
THE local governments of Mandaue City government and Borbon town in northern Cebu signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to formalize their sisterhood yesterday.
The sisterhood agreement was signed by Mayor Jonas Cortes and Borbon Mayor Bernardo “Butch” Sepulveda at the City Council session hall.
It was witnessed by Mandaue City Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede and Borbon Vice Mayor Noel Dotillos.
Cortes in a speech said that although Borbon is a small town and Mandaue is a highly urbanized city, both can benefit from the partnership.
Among the things Mandaue City will be looking at as mutual areas of development is environment protection, and peace and order.
As a highly urbanized city, Mandaue can facilitate employment of Bordon residents in the city’s commercial and manufacturing establishments, said the mayor.
