Fire razes two houses in Lapu City
At least two houses were razed and another was partially damaged when a fire hit sitio Saac 1 before 3 a.m. in barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City, yesterday.
The Lapu-Lapu City Fire Department said no one was injured from the fire that damaged P50,000 worth of properties.
FO2 Climaco Salisid said the fire was put under control five minutes after they received the alarm.
He said the fire originated from either of two houses owned by Larry Segara whose renters used kerosene lamps to light their houses at night.
The houses were made of light materials. A third house owned by Merlyn Jumao-as was partially burned.
In an interview, Segara said two renters occupying separate houses, Mario Dejito and Fely Cuizon, were heard arguing before the incident and were no longer seen in the area after the fire. Segara sad he was able to save a few belongings after someone shouted a warning that the house was on fire. /Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
