Cavite cockpit operator loses P700,000 to robber

LUCENA CITY – A cockpit operator in Alfonso, Cavite lost P700,000 to an armed robber before dawn Sunday.

The Police Region 4A  reported that cashier Inah Kathleen Mendoza stepped out of the Alfonso Cockpit Arena in Barangay (village) Mangas 2 at around 2:45 a.m. to deliver the money to the cockpit owner.

As Mendoza was about to ride a waiting motorcycle with a companion who was not identified in the report, an armed man poked a gun at them.

The man grabbed Mendoza’s bag, which contained P700,000 in cash, and hurriedly fled to a forested area.

Further investigation is ongoing.
