MANILA, Philippines — A portion of the Doctor Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila caught fire, which was extinguished on Thursday midnight, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
The BFP said the second floor of the three-story tertiary healthcare facility in the old main hospital building caught fire due to an electrical ignition caused by a loose connection.
The fire was reported at 11:52 p.m. on Wednesday and was shortly extinguished at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday.
The Manila City Government said no damage or casualties were reported due to the fire.
“As per report, no affected residential property, no injuries, and no casualty [were recorded],” a city spokesperson told reporters on Friday.
