Villanueva says he has proof House behind ‘fake people’s initiative’

Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva on Friday claimed he has proof that the leadership of the House of Representatives was behind the alleged people’s initiative proposing to amend the 1987 Constitution.

Villanueva made the pronouncement after revealing that his office has already received thousands of complaints against the supposed people’s initiative which he tagged as a “fake initiative.”

SMNI suspended for 28 days more as MTRCB junks its plea

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) extended the suspension of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) shows to 28 more days as government television censors rejected their motions for reconsideration (MRs) of earlier orders.

According to the board, SMNI’s assertions in its MRs were “unconvincing and lacking persuasiveness.”

Marcos off to Vietnam for state visit from Jan 29 to 30

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will visit Vietnam from January 29-30, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Friday.

DFA Spokesperson Maria Teresita Daza said the President’s state visit to the Southeast Asian country was upon the invitation of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.
