Most of PH to see fair weather, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country are forecast to experience fair weather on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In a public weather report, Pagasa expert Rhea Torres said that while the northeast monsoon continues to affect parts of Northern and Central Luzon, clear and pleasant weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Pagasa’s 4 a.m. advisory said that Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan.

But for the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of Calabarzon, generally fair weather is expected despite some chances of isolated light rains, Torres noted.

For Palawan and Visayas, hot and humid weather will prevail with temperatures in Puerto Princesa reaching 32 degrees Celsius, and Cebu, Iloilo, and Tacloban, 31 degrees Celsius, according to Torres.

However, Visayas may still experience light rains and thunderstorms, she also said.

Pleasant weather is likewise expected in Mindanao even if isolated light rains and thunderstorms were forecast to occur on Wednesday.

Torres encouraged residents in affected areas to continue monitoring Pagasa’s thunderstorm advisories.

As for the country’s seaboards, a gale warning is hoisted over the northern, eastern, and western coasts of Northern Luzon and the eastern coast of Central and Southern Luzon where waves may reach as high as five meters.

A gale warning is also raised over the eastern seaboard of Visayas where waves may reach 4.5 meters, according to Pagasa.
