BACOLOD CITY–A fire hit 28 stalls at the City North Public Market in Burgos Street at about 12:55 a.m. Sunday and destroyed P1.5 million worth of merchandise.
Twelve of the stalls were completely burned down, Chief Insp. Pamela Rojane Candido, city fire marshal, said.
Investigation showed that the fire started at the eatery of Marilyn Guanco at Building B. Candido said the fire could have been caused by the overheating of a fluorescent ballast.
Fire fighters put out the fire at about 1:50 a.m. No one was reported injured. Carla P. Gomez, Inquirer Visayas
