City of Manila road closures, rerouting plans on Jan. 28
MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in the City of Manila will be closed to traffic on Sunday, January 28 to make way for the Bagong Pilipinas Kick-Off Rally, said the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
According to the MMDA, the road closures are part of its traffic and parking management plan set to be implemented in and around the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park.
The following roads will be closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Roxas Blvd. from U.N. Avenue to P. Burgos Ave.
T.M. Kalaw – both Sides from Roxas Blvd. to Taft Ave.
Burgos Avenue – both sides and Finance Road
Ma. Orosa Street

Article continues after this advertisementDue to the closures, motorists should avoid Rizal Park and all roads leading to the venue and take the following alternative routes:
Northbound vehicles
From Roxas Blvd., turn right to Quirino Avenue or U.N. Avenue, and turn left to Taft Avenue, going to the point of destination
Southbound vehicles
From R-10, proceed to Bonifacio Drive, Anda Circle, turn left to Soriano Avenue, turn right to Muralla Street, turn left to Magallanes Drive, turn right to P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue, to destination.
Northbound and southbound trucks
Trucks going to North Harbor- from SLEX, go straight ahead to Osmeña Highway, turn right to Quirino Avenue, straight to Nagtahan St., Lacson Avenue, left to Yseco St., straight to Capulong St., right to R-10 Road to destination.
Trucks from the Parañaque area may turn right at Quirino Avenue, Nagtahan St., Lacson Avenue to the destination.
“All alternate and truck routes are being cleared for any obstruction prior to the event,” the MMDA assured motorists.
Meanwhile, boulevards, avenues, and other roads in Manila, Pasay, and Paranaque will be designated as parking areas for buses and cars
The MMDA also said it will deploy a total of 914 personnel to assist in traffic management and extend assistance to motorists and the general public.
Ambulances, tow trucks, mobile patrol units, motorcycle units, and flood mitigation equipment, among others, will also be dispatched at designated routes.
