Anuran and Lilis were inside the marked vehicle when they were flagged by a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) enforcer.
The two officers were on an official mission, but passing through the bus lane was still a violation, Ines was quoted as saying in the same statement.
“Violation pa rin iyong going through the Bus Carousel,” he stressed.

Ines further mentioned that he has instructed Assistant General Manager for Security and Emergency Services retired BGen. Manny Gonzales to handle the investigation on the matter.
A video circulated online on January 21 showed an airport police officer trying to snatch the cell phone of the MMDA enforcer after being cited for a violation.
According to the Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation, the officer refused to give his driver’s license despite being caught using the northbound Edsa bus lane, which resulted in the commotion.
