MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives is expediting the release of P35 million in aid for landslide victims in the Davao Region, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said Friday.

Romualdez said coordination is ongoing with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to distribute P5 million to each of the seven districts in the region.

The financial aid will be allocated to the first and second districts of Davao de Oro, the first and second districts of Davao Oriental, the first and second district of Davao del Norte, and the lone district of Davao Occidental.

“Every moment counts, and we are working tirelessly to ensure that financial aid and essential supplies reach those in need without delay,” Romualdez said.

Additionally, affected families in the seven districts will receive P2,500 worth of food packs from DSWD.

“We understand the gravity of the situation, and our combined efforts aim to alleviate the immediate challenges faced by our fellow Filipinos,” he said.
