MANILA, Philippines — Over 2,000 people are affected by flooding incidents and landslides in the Davao Region, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s (NDRRMC) situational report on Wednesday.
NDRRMC said out of the 2,212 persons, 1,657 are from Davao De Oro, 455 are from Davao Oriental, and 100 are from Davao Occidental.

Also, of the affected persons, 1,800 are currently in evacuation centers in the three provinces, according to the NDRRMC.
The government assisted P339,625 for the evacuees, the report also said.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC has yet to report infrastructure and agricultural damage.
The cases of floods and landslides, which began Tuesday, were caused by the shear line or the convergence of cold winds brought by the northeast monsoon and warm winds from the easterlies.
