MANILA, Philippines — The local government unit of Quezon City (QC) asked its citizens to be responsible when using their QC Identification Card (QCID) to avail of various privileges in the city.
This was after a citizen was apprehended by the local government for applying for two separate QCIDs to get assistance from the Pangkabuhayan QC Program.
According to a Facebook post of the QCID Team on Friday, the citizen, whose name and gender were not identified for privacy, applied for two QCIDs with the same name but with a different format. They also presented a different identification card.
(A QCitizen applied for two QCIDs and used them to get benefits from the PBQC. In their desire to get the PBQC Phase 3, they applied for a QCID with the same name but with a different format, with the same details and signature. And to get this approved, they submitted a different ID.)
A QC employee noticed that the person already obtained financial assistance during the PBQC Phase 2 under their first QCID, with which the person used their second QCID to apply for the PBQC Phase 3. The local government then said they may be liable for a deceit case.

However, after the settlement, the local government and the person agreed that the case would not be filed as long as the person wrote a letter of their public apology and vowed not to repeat their actions.
(May this be a reminder and a warning to all QCitizens not to misuse their QCID. We would also like to stress that this action is a violation of City Ordinance No. SP – 3041, S-2021, “The Unified Quezon City ID Ordinance of 2021”, Section 8, Part 1. Violators will be charged with serious punishments as provided by the ordinance. For questions, you may consult with us.)
