MANILA, Philippines — There are zero active New People’s Army (NPA) guerrilla fronts as of December 2023, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Saturday.
He made this statement in a video posted on the Presidential Communications Office’s Facebook account.
“Last year, nakapag-neutralize tayo ng 1,399 members of communists and local terrorist groups. Nakakuha tayo ng 1,751 na firearms o baril through capture, confiscation, and recovery and sa mga surrender,” Marcos said.

“Ngayon maaari na nating mai-report na wala ng active NPA guerrilla front as of December of 2023,” the President noted.

He also commended the “good performance” of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police.
“Maganda naman ang performance ng ating AFP. Maganda naman ang performance ng ating mga pulis,” Marcos said.

He likewise praised the coordination between Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. and intelligence agencies, which, according to the President, facilitated the government’s successful campaign against internal terrorism.
