The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Thursday that it considers the current circumstances of those who will approach their office for assistance.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Thursday that it considers the current circumstances of those who will approach their office for assistance.

According to Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian, the DSWD will “continue to provide all kinds of assistance” to the poor and vulnerable sector as provided by the law.

“As the government’s frontline social protection agency, the Department of Social Welfare and Development continues to provide all kinds of assistance to the poor and vulnerable within the bounds set by existing rules and guidelines,” Gatchalian said in a statement.

The DSWD also said that its social workers will be ready to assist those who are in need of it.

It added that the only consideration that it factors in for the distribution of aid is the current circumstance of those who ask for it.

“The only consideration for the distribution of aid for the indigent and those in a crisis situation is their current circumstance as assessed by our social workers in the DSWD Central office, satellite office, and the various field offices,” it said.
