2 motorcycle riders dead in Quezon mishaps

LUCENA CITY — Two motorcycle riders died in separate road mishaps on Monday in Quezon province.

The Quezon police said in a report on Tuesday, Jan. 9, that Marlon Doblon was traveling at 3:30 a.m. on his motorcycle along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Masin Sur in Candelaria town when he occupied the opposite lane and collided with a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Felix Escurel VI.

The rider, who was wearing a crash helmet, suffered grave injuries and died on the spot.

The police are conducting further investigation while Escurel remains in their custody.

In another report, Janssen Dianne Cuento, was found around 6:10 a.m. lying and unconscious with a head injury at the national road in Barangay Poblacion Uno in Real town.

She was taken to a hospital in Infanta town but died on the way.

The police said Cuento was traveling toward the Famy-Infanta road when she met an accident, which the report did not specify.

The report classified the incident as a “self-accident.”
