LEGAZPI CITY — Several towns in Catanduanes province suspended classes on Monday due to heavy rainfall brought by a shear line.

As of 8:30 a.m., classes at all levels in private and public schools were suspended in the towns of Bagamanoc, Baras, Bato, Gigmoto, Pandan, and San Miguel, according to the Catanduanes Information Office.

Elementary and secondary classes were also suspended in Panganiban and Viga towns.

Fishermen using small seacraft, including all motor bancas of any type or tonnage, were also warned of possible rough seas.

At 8:35 a.m., a rain-induced landslide rendered roads impassable in Barangay Putsan in Baras.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines also canceled the 5J 821/822 Manila-Virac-Manila flighs of Cebu Pacific due to the bad weather. INQ
