Capiz town vice mayor slain
ROXAS CITY — Vice Mayor Abel Martinez of Mambusao, Capiz, was shot dead by a lone gunman in front of his house on Rizal Street, Poblacion proper, Mambusao, about 6 a.m. Friday.
Martinez suffered three bullets wounds in the head and two in the back, said Insp. Samuel Vipinosa, Mambusao police chief.
He reported witnesses as saying the gunman then fled to the waiting shed where a companion was waiting for him on a motorcycle.

The gunman then got on the motorcycle and the two sped off toward Jamindan town, said Vipinosa.
The vice mayor was taken to the Mambusao District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. /INQUIRER
