Fire hits Quezon City home; 2 injured

MANILA, Philippines – Two persons were reported injured in a brief fire which razed a house in Quezon City on Saturday afternoon.

The fire began at 4:15 p.m. at a house inside the Tierra Verde III Subdivision and reached first alarm before it was put out at 4:55 p.m.

Initial reports reaching the Quezon City Bureau of Fire Protection identified the injured as a male resident trying to save his elderly mother, and a security guard. The names of both men were still unavailable as of posting time.

Fire Officer 3 Francisco Mabunga, radio operator, said they were investigating reports that the fire began from the basement of the injured resident’s house.
