MANILA, Philippines — Over 82 million Filipinos have registered for Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) or PhilSys ID in 2023, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said.

The cards are also called PhilIDs.

Specifically, 82,812,899 Filipinos are PhilSys-registered as of December 18.

This number is 90 percent of the agency’s 92 million target registration for PhilIDs this year.

The program aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens of the Philippines.

PSA Undersecretary Dennis Mapa said the agency exerted “all efforts to ensure coverage of Filipinos who have not yet registered.”

Some of these actions involved going to remote areas to assist persons who are in difficult situations so that they could register.

As of December 8, over 48 million PhilIDs were dispatched for delivery by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
