MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) warned the public on Sunday against unofficial solicitations or communications using the name of BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
According to the BI, it does not engage in personal solicitations or requests for financial assistance.
“Please be aware that the BI does not engage in personal solicitations or requests for financial assistance,” it said in its advisory.
The agency added that people should not reply to messages of this kind and should instead report them to authorities.
“If you receive suspicious messages or requests for personal information, do not respond. Report any such incidents to the appropriate authorities or contact the BI through official channels,” it added.
