BI agents arrest Indonesian Pogo worker
An Indonesian national, who used to work for a Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) facility that was raided by law enforcement agents in June, was apprehended by agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) before he could board his flight to Singapore.
According to the BI, its agents intercepted Angga Pratama, 34, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Dec. 21.
He was flagged by immigration authorities upon noting a derogatory hit in the BI’s database bearing his name. Information from the BI’s Border Control Intelligence Unit revealed that Angga is charged with overstaying and working without a permit.
He was allegedly involved in cybercrime while employed at Xinchuang Network Technology Inc. located in Las Piñas, which was ordered shut down after it was raided by the Philippine National Police earlier this year for trafficking and cybercrime. —Tina G. Santos
