MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday emphasized the importance of spreading hope during Christmas by reaching out to those in need.
In his Christmas message, Marcos highlighted the significance of the special day for Filipinos in honor of the birth of Christ through Simbang Gabi, gift-giving, and festive gatherings with loved ones.
“But more than just a celebration, let us be reminded that the true meaning of Christmas lies in the recognition of the season as an opportunity to reach out to those who are suffering from solitude, sickness, and poverty,” he said.

“Indeed, there is no better way for us to share the gift of Christmas than by spreading hope to those who need it the most this holiday season,” he added.
Marcos said that doing so would allow people “to become living instruments of the timeless adage that God’s work here on earth is truly our own.”

This year, the President and his family would again spend Christmas in Malacañang – the second time since he was elected Chief Executive of the country in 2022.
On Friday, Marcos invited the public to visit the Palace for Christmas after it opened its grounds for the annual “Tara sa Palasyo” festivities.
